El Capítulo Estudiantil SEG UNT presentó su nuevo sitio web, que reemplaza a la página anterior. El sitio reúne la historia del capítulo desde su creación en 2019, las actividades, los logros, la comisión directiva y las noticias.The SEG UNT Student Chapter presented its new website, which replaces the previous page. The site brings together the chapter's history since its creation in 2019, its activities, achievements, board and news.

Entre las novedades se destacan la videoteca, conectada al canal de YouTube del capítulo, el formulario de inscripción para nuevos miembros y una sección para profesionales, instituciones y empresas que quieran colaborar.New features include the video library, connected to the chapter's YouTube channel, the membership form for new members and a section for professionals, institutions and companies that want to collaborate.

El sitio está disponible en español e inglés, para acercar el trabajo del capítulo a la comunidad SEG internacional.The site is available in Spanish and English, to bring the chapter's work closer to the international SEG community.

En octubre de 2026 el Capítulo Estudiantil SEG UNT renovó por completo su Comisión Directiva. Las postulaciones se recibieron mediante un formulario abierto a los miembros activos.In October 2026 the SEG UNT Student Chapter fully renewed its Executive Board. Applications were received through a form open to active members.

La presidencia quedó a cargo de Matías Ezequiel Contardo, acompañado por Albana Zottoli en la vicepresidencia, Leandro Andrea Vitulli Paz en la Secretaría General y Joel Perez Leandrini en la Tesorería.Matías Ezequiel Contardo is President, with Albana Zottoli as Vice President, Leandro Andrea Vitulli Paz as Secretary General and Joel Perez Leandrini as Treasurer.

Las secretarías quedaron integradas así: Extensión, con Matheo Such, Jenifer Denise Carrizo y Emilce Grisel Albornoz; Prensa y Difusión, con Milagros Valentina Gatti, Araceli Velardez y María Claribel; y Proyectos y Logística, con María Bernarda Kanán, Catalina Pedro y Paula Díaz. Los asesores académicos son la Ing. María Fernanda Graneros y el Ing. El viernes 11 de septiembre los capítulos estudiantiles SEG UNT y SEG UNLP realizaron el webinar «De Tucumán a Houston». Participaron los seis estudiantes de la UNT que viajaron a IMAGE 2026 y Marcelo Isidoro Szelagowski, del capítulo SEG UNLP, que formó parte del SEG/Chevron Student Leadership Symposium.On Friday, September 11, the SEG UNT and SEG UNLP student chapters held the webinar "From Tucumán to Houston". It featured the six UNT students who travelled to IMAGE 2026 and Marcelo Isidoro Szelagowski, from the SEG UNLP chapter, who took part in the SEG/Chevron Student Leadership Symposium.

Los participantes contaron cómo se prepararon para la competencia, cómo fue la final y qué oportunidades encontraron en el congreso, con la intención de motivar a otros estudiantes a sumarse a las próximas ediciones.The speakers described how they prepared for the competition, what the finals were like and the opportunities they found at the conference, hoping to encourage other students to join future editions.

Del 17 al 20 de agosto de 2026 se realizó IMAGE 2026 (International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & Energy), organizado por la SEG y la AAPG en el George R. Brown Convention Center de Houston, Texas. En ese marco se disputó la final internacional de la SEG Challenge Bowl.IMAGE 2026 (International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & Energy), organized by the SEG and the AAPG, took place on August 17–20, 2026 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, hosting the SEG Challenge Bowl international finals.

Seis estudiantes de la UNT compitieron en la final individual, y el podio quedó completo para el capítulo: Leandro Vitulli Paz obtuvo el primer puesto, María Bernarda Kanán el segundo y Justo Casañas el tercero. También compitieron Albana Zottoli, Matheo Such y Araceli Velardez.Six UNT students competed in the individual final, and the podium was swept by the chapter: Leandro Vitulli Paz won first place, María Bernarda Kanán second and Justo Casañas third. Albana Zottoli, Matheo Such and Araceli Velardez also competed.

Además de la competencia, la delegación recorrió la exposición técnica y participó de las actividades del congreso. La Fundación YPF apoyó la participación de la delegación argentina.Besides the competition, the delegation visited the technical exhibition and took part in conference activities. Durante la muestra «Exactas para Todos», parte de la Expo UNT 2026, el capítulo acompañó el stand de Ingeniería Geodésica y Geofísica en el Block 3 de la FACET, donde los miembros conversaron con futuros ingresantes sobre la carrera y las geociencias.During the "Exactas para Todos" fair, part of the 2026 UNT Expo, the chapter supported the Geodetic and Geophysical Engineering stand at FACET's Block 3, where members talked with prospective students about the degree and the geosciences.

El jueves 13 de agosto, Jenifer Carrizo y Gabriel Urueña presentaron «La cicatriz de California: ¿por qué tiembla? Explorando la Falla de San Andrés». El viernes 14, Aixa Asus y María Jimena Graneros compartieron su «Experiencia de prácticas mineras en YMAD – Farallón Negro».On Thursday, August 13, Jenifer Carrizo and Gabriel Urueña presented "California's scar: why does it shake? Para celebrar el Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente, los capítulos estudiantiles SEG ASOIU, SEG UNT, SEG UNSJ y SEG UNLP organizaron un quiz internacional de geociencias y ambiente, abierto a estudiantes de grado y posgrado de todo el mundo.To celebrate World Environment Day, the SEG ASOIU, SEG UNT, SEG UNSJ and SEG UNLP student chapters organized an international geosciences and environment quiz, open to undergraduate and graduate students worldwide.

La competencia fue individual: las preguntas se mostraron en vivo por Google Meet y cada participante respondió desde Blooket, con puntaje en tiempo real a lo largo de tres rondas de dificultad creciente.The competition was individual: questions were shown live on Google Meet and each participant answered on Blooket, with live scoring across three rounds of increasing difficulty.

Las preguntas abarcaron geofísica, geografía, ciencias ambientales, historia de la ciencia e historia del Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente. Los cupos se repartieron entre integrantes de comisiones de capítulos SEG y estudiantes que no forman parte de ningún capítulo.Questions covered geophysics, geography, environmental sciences, the history of science and the history of World Environment Day. Places were split between SEG chapter board members and students who are not part of any chapter.

Los Canarios Azules (Albana Zottoli y Leandro Vitulli Paz) obtuvieron el primer puesto; GEOMON (Araceli Velardez y Matheo Such), el segundo; y SPIN D.A.T.O.
